Lejaan Kids Collection by Yveta Anna Kroupová

Tobias ' Dream

She writes poetry, makes jewellery, designs interiors. Her signature illustrations appear at Ambiente restaurants and in the original-looking recipe books by Dity P. The talk here is about the artist Yveta Anna Kroupová, the illustrator behind our bedlinen collections, Rebeca's Dream and Tobias' Dream.

It is a great honour to present to you our bedding collection designed by Yveta Anna Kroupová. Inspired by childhood memories of this versatile artist, this bedding will charm and calm your kids at bedtime. Yveta’s signature illustrations enliven every kid’s room yet manage to soothe your kids to sleep.

How It All Began

Both collections are named after the kids of Lejaan founders, Marcel's daughter Rebecca and Honza's son Tobias. Our mix of cotton and TENCEL™ Lyocell (natural eucalyptus fibre) give this bedding that silky-smooth feel, ensure it’s moisture wicking, crease resistant and soft to the touch. Designed and stitched with precision, this bedding will survive many a pillow fight and ensure no zips or hard buttons get in the way.

Rebeca's Dream

The soft pink shade of the Rebeca's Dream bedding is complemented with illustrations of plants and animals. “My childhood memories of summer inspired these illustrations. The times, when as a child, I and my cousin secretly crept through a hole in the fence into an old overgrown abandoned school. When we chased butterflies, caught grasshoppers in jam-jars and saw hares running around. The designs on Rebeca's Dream bedding illustrate a fairy tale about a girl living in a beautiful, carefree world,” describes Yveta.

Tobias' Dream

The dinosaur illustrations in Tobias' Dream were inspired by the famous Czech film Journey to the Beginning of Time by Karel Zeman as well as the book Prehistoric Man, fabulously illustrated by Zdeněk Burian. “As a child, I used to stare into that book for hours on end. I tried to maintain this fifties style in my design, e.g., the clothes of the boy on a raft. I deliberately went for muted and earthy tones rather than expressive modern colours.”

Both Kids Collections have an adult sized equivalent. "We know that children often like to carry their duvets to their parents' bed so we primarily matched these to the Never Too Late and Father's Playground collections,” adds co-owner Marcel.
